The Rosé Festival Coming
Stomp Grapes And Down Vino At The Rosé Festival Coming To The Valley
By Annabelle Allpass,10/02/2021
Tired of your regular drop? Does your local bottle-o attendant keep jovially directing you to your section every time you enter? (Seriously Charlene, we know where the wine is.) Or dare we ask, are you still scanning the shelves for the cheapest vino with the most standards? A slap on the wrist for you. Ladies and gents, we shouldn't have to tell you that you should've let go of that $5 bottle of wine (nail polish remover flavour) literally in the second semester of your first year of uni. Good news to those who relate to the above, because we’ve found a new wine making event sure to level up your wine game. Enter: City Winery’s Rosé Festival.
Happening on Sunday 7 March, The Tivoli is hosting and pink-hued libations will be provided by City Winery so you can enjoy a day full of DJs, live music, art and food stalls. Bonus, it’s a cheeky afternoon sesh, so you can still be in bed by 9pm—because day drinking is the best. Perhaps the pièce de résistance of this festival is the fact that you can get hands on in creating your next favourite bottle by slipping off the ol’ shoes and getting your stomp on to crush Brisbane's first people-powered rosé.
Dave Cush, City Winery’s head winemaker and co-founder, said“We’re thrilled to be able to host such a hands-on winemaking event for the public—we offer all the best parts of wine making, with none of the tedious bits! The best part is, it’ll actually be bottled for our 2021 Rosé release, how cool to be able to say you were part of that!”
What's more, after your feet are sufficiently stained you can pull up a stump and learn the secrets behind your dream drop at the expert-hosted wine masterclasses. If none of this tickles your fancy (really? not even the grape stomping?) never fear, you can just recline and sip the day away to the sweet sounds of Brisbane’s best local bands. We’ve given you heaps of notice to request the Monday after off, so grab your tickets for $49pp here.
When: 12pm, Sunday 7 March
